Story 1: At the Police Station
Hello! My name is Tom. Today I need to visit the police station. I want to ask some questions about laws in my city.
When I arrive, I see many police officers. One doctor is also there, helping injured people. There are two doctors actually - one doctor asks me, "Are you hurt?" I say, "No, thank you."
I walk to the information desk to ask about parking laws. The officer is asking another person about their car. I wait in line. There are three lines, and I choose the left line.
"Excuse me," I say. "Please, can you help me? I have questions about parking laws."
"Yes," the officer says. "What do you need to know?"
I asked him, "Is it right to park near houses?"
He thanks me for asking and explains the law.
Story 2: The New House
Sarah is thanking her friend for help. They are moving into a new house. The house has three floors.
"Please be careful with that tool," Sarah says. "The sharp edge is dangerous."
Her friend adds the tool to a box. "Why is this tool so sharp?" he asks.
"It's for cutting wood," Sarah explains. She is adding more tools to the box.
On the second floor, they find the rooms. "How many rooms are there?" her friend asks.
"Five rooms," Sarah answers. "One room is very big."
They find the toilet on each floor. "Two toilets!" Sarah is happy. "Thank you for helping me!"
Her dog runs into the room. The dog's ears are big and strong. "Dogs need space to run," she says.
Story 3: English Class
Mr. Lee is teaching English. "Today we learn about nouns and verbs," he says.
"A noun is a person, place, or thing. For example: house, car, doctor."
A student asks, "How do we use verbs?"
"A verb shows action," Mr. Lee explains. "Like add, ask, thank."
He writes on the board:
- "I add sugar." (present)
- "She adds milk." (present, third person)
- "We are adding water." (continuous)
- "They added salt yesterday." (past)
"Sorry," a student says, "I don't understand. Please explain again."
"Yes, of course," Mr. Lee says. He is patient and strong in his teaching.
Another student raises her left hand. "Why do we change verbs?"
"Good question!" Mr. Lee says. "English verbs change to show time and person."
The class thanks him. "Thank you, teacher!"
"You're welcome. Please practice these words at home."
Story 4: The Veterinarian Visit
Lisa takes her dog to the doctor. This doctor is special - a veterinarian for animals.
In the waiting room, she sits in a chair on the right side. Other people are waiting in line too. One person has a cat in a car carrier.
The doctor calls her name. "Hello, Lisa! Please come in."
Lisa asks, "Is my dog sick?"
The doctor checks the dog's ears. "His ears look good. How is he eating?"
"Yes, he eats well," Lisa says.
The doctor asks more questions. "Does he go to the toilet normally?"
"Yes," Lisa answers.
"Good! Your dog is strong and healthy," the doctor says. "No problems."
Lisa is thanking the doctor. "Thank you so much! Sorry for worrying."
"No need to be sorry," the doctor smiles. "It's right to ask questions about your pet's health."
Lisa drives her car home. The dog sits happily, looking out the window with his big ears in the wind.
