Story 1: The Science Class
Today, five young children went to a science building. There were three males and two females in the group. Their parent, Mrs. Brown, was their teacher.
"Let's count the number of things in this room," said Mrs. Brown. The children began counting: "One, two, three, four, five..."
Mrs. Brown showed them three bottles. "Look at these liquids," she said. One bottle had milk - it was white. She held up another bottle with water. "This liquid is clear," she explained.
Then she picked up a balloon. "This is a gas," she said. "We cannot see most gases, but they are real." She showed them how the balloon had grown when she filled it with air.
Next, she held a solid rock. "This is heavy," she said. "Can you lift it?" One child tried to lift the rock but it was too heavy.
"I enjoy science!" said one female student. "I enjoyed today's class very much!"
All the children said they enjoyed learning about solids, liquids, and gases.
Story 2: The Growing Plant
A young boy wanted to grow a plant. He lifted a pot with a hole in the bottom. "Why does this pot have holes in it?" he asked his parents.
"The holes help water to drink," said his father. "Plants need to drink water through their mouths - we call them roots."
The boy put soil in the pot. He made a small hole and put a seed in it. Every day, he gave water to the seed. The plant drank the water.
After three weeks, something grew from the soil! It was a small light green shoot. After four more weeks, it had grown taller. After five months, it had grown into a big plant!
The boy measured the length of the plant. "It has grown to a length of 30 centimeters!" he said happily.
His mother smiled. "You lifted that pot many times to water it. You did a good job!"
Story 3: The Building Project
Mr. Lee often built things. Today, he wanted to connect some pipes. He had a long pipe and a short pipe. The length of the long pipe was two meters.
He saw a hole in the wall where the pipe should go. He lifted the heavy pipe and tried to connect it to another pipe. He connected one end of the pipe to the wall. Then he connected the other end to a water source.
"These pipes will carry liquids," he explained to his child. "They connect to the building's water system."
He showed four different pipes. "Three of these pipes are for water. One of them is for gas," he said.
His child watched him work. "You often do this work, Father," said the child.
"Yes," said Mr. Lee. "I enjoy connecting pipes. I have connected hundreds of pipes in different buildings."
Story 4: The Party Balloons
Anna was a young female who loved balloons. Today, she had a group of balloons for a party. She had five light blue balloons and four white ones.
"Let's count them," said her mother. "One, two, three..." They counted all the balloons. "Nine!" said Anna.
"Why do balloons go up?" asked Anna.
"The gas inside is lighter than air," explained her mother. "When we fill them with gas, they float up."
Anna's little brother drank some milk from his cup. He had drunk all his milk! Then he looked at the balloons. "Can I drink the gas?" he asked.
"No!" said Anna and her mother together. "Gases in balloons are not for drinking!"
At the end of the party, Anna lifted the groups of balloons. She gave three to one friend, four to another friend. She enjoyed giving balloons to her friends.
Story 5: The Kitchen Morning
In the morning, the children went to the kitchen. The male child wanted to drink orange juice. The female child had already drunk her milk.
Their parents were making breakfast. The mother lifted a heavy pot. The father was counting eggs. "We have enough for everyone," he said.
The boy looked at his cup. It had a small hole in the side! "Look! There's a hole in my cup!" he said. Water was coming out of the hole.
"We need a new cup," said his parent. "That cup has grown old."
The length of the kitchen table was long. It could seat five people. A light hung from the ceiling. The white light made the room bright.
At the end of breakfast, everyone felt happy. "I enjoy our family breakfasts," said the young girl. "I have enjoyed them since I was very small!"
The parents smiled. They enjoyed having breakfast with their children every morning.
