1. Articles show whether a noun is specific or unspecific.

Use“a” before a consonant, and “an” before a vowel.

2.“Some”

can be used before uncountable nouns.

Some 可以⽤于不可数名词前。（也可⽤于可数名词前）

e.g.:

I want to drink some water. 我想喝点⽔。

The room needs some light. 这个房间需要⼀些光。vs. The room needs a light. 这个房间需要⼀盏灯。

3. Articles come before other modifiers.

名词前有多个限定词时，（the/a) ⽤于其他限定词之前。

III. Pronounciation 发⾳

Chinese and English sounds are different.
