Story 1: The Moving Day
I am here now, standing in front of my new house. I like this place very much. It is like a dream come true. I have a new home, and my friend has a house next to me.
Before, I had to live in a small room for a long time. But now, things are different. This house belongs to me. Every part of it, all the parts, are mine. The garden is part of my property too.
I want to move inside now. I start moving my things. I moved a box to the living room. Then I moved another box to the kitchen. Moving all these boxes takes time. At times, it feels like too much work, but I keep moving.
At this time, my friend comes to help me. "Can I help you?" she asks. "Yes, you can!" I say. Together, we move faster.
Story 2: A Bad Day
Someone is crying. "Who is crying?" I ask. It's my neighbor, Tom. "What happened?" I want to know.
"Something bad happened to me," Tom says. "I had a bad day at work. My boss did something bad to me. He said bad things about my work."
I think Tom feels very sad. "What did you do?" I ask.
"I did nothing," Tom says. "I just felt terrible. I thought about it for a long time. Thinking too much is bad for you, I know, but I could not stop thinking about it."
"Maybe you should talk to your boss," I say. "Tell him how you feel."
After a moment, Tom says, "You are right. I will do that tomorrow."
Story 3: The Sick Cat
My cat is sick. I feel worried. "What should I do with this?" I think. I have to take her to the vet.
At the vet's office, the doctor looks at my cat's body. He checks all parts of her body. "Does she eat well?" he asks.
"No," I say. "She does not eat much now. Before, she had a good appetite, but now she does not want to eat."
The vet thinks for a short time. "This is not bad," he says. "She just needs medicine. Give this to her for a long time, maybe three weeks."
"What will happen if I do not give her the medicine?" I ask.
"Bad things could happen," the vet says. "But don't worry. If you do what I tell you, she will be fine."
I feel better now. I do what the vet says. After some time, my cat starts to feel better. She is moving around again, doing the things she likes to do.
Story 4: The Park
I go to the park. I like this park because it has many trees. Every tree belongs to the city, but we can all enjoy them.
I see someone sitting on a bench. "Who is that?" I think. Maybe it's my old friend. I move to where he is sitting.
"Hi!" I say. "What are you doing here?"
"I am just thinking," he says. "I think about many things when I come here. At times, I think about the past. At this time, I was thinking about our school days."
"I remember those times," I say. "We did so many things together. We had fun for such a long time."
"Yes," he says. "But now, we have different lives. I belong to a company now, and you have your own job."
We sit together for some time. In a moment, I feel happy. It is nice to spend time with old friends.
Story 5: The Question
I want to ask you something. "What do you think about this book?" I show you the book.
"I like it," you say. "It has good stories. Every story is part of a bigger idea."
"What will you do with the book after you finish it?" I ask.
"Maybe I will give it to someone," you say. "Someone who wants to read it."
"That's nice," I say. "I think that is a good idea."
At times, sharing is the best thing to do. When we share, good things happen. Someone else can enjoy what we have.
Story 6: The Old House
There is an old house below the hill. It belonged to my grandfather a long time ago. Before he died, he had lived there for many years.
Now, the house is empty. No one has lived there for a long time. Parts of the house are falling down. The roof is bad. The doors do not move well.
"What will happen to this house?" my sister asks.
"Maybe someone will fix it," I say. "Maybe someone could move to it and make it beautiful again."
"I think we should do something," she says. "This house was part of our family for a long time."
I feel sad thinking about the house. I remember when I was there as a child. At that time, the house was full of life. Now, it feels dead.
After a moment, I say, "You are right. We can fix it together. It will take time, but we can do it."
My sister smiles. "I like that idea," she says.
Story 7: The Strange Event
Something strange happened yesterday. I was walking here, near the park, when I saw something unusual.
Someone was moving very fast. "Who is that?" I thought. I could not see clearly. The person moved below some trees and disappeared.
"Did you see that?" I asked a man next to me.
"No," he said. "What happened?"
"Someone just moved so fast," I said. "It was strange."
The man looked at me. "Maybe you are tired," he said. "When we are tired, strange things can happen."
I thought about this for a short time. Maybe he was right. I had been working for a long time. I needed to rest.
"You are right," I said. "I should go home now."
At times, our body needs rest. When we do not rest for a long time, we feel bad. We can see things that are not real.
Story 8: The Decision
I need to make a decision. I have to choose between two jobs. Both jobs are good, but I can only take one.
The first job belongs to a big company. It has many parts - different departments. I would work in one part of the company. The pay is good, but the times are long. I would work for long times every day.
The second job is different. It is smaller. I would have more time to do what I like. But the pay is not as good.
"What should I do?" I ask my friend.
"What do you want?" she asks me.
"I want to be happy," I say. "But I also want to have money."
"I think you should think about what matters most to you," she says. "At this time in your life, what do you need?"
I think for a moment. "I need time," I say. "I have worked for a long time, always busy. Now, I want to have more time for myself."
"Then you know what to do," she says.
She is right. I know what I want to do now.
The End
